Hill & Smith Holdings PLC announces an exciting development in its strategy for expansion of its operations in the USA. With the objective of mirroring the success of its Infrastructure Products Group ("IPG") in the UK, a new Company has been formed in the USA, Hill & Smith Inc., to head the necessary expansion plans. Leading the operational management of Hill & Smith Inc will be Gary Lallo (Vice President Operations) who has been working with IPG directors Mark Tonks and John Addy.
"Zoneguard" (the portable steel crash barrier) is the first of several planned American manufactured products and has undergone extensive crash testing at the South West Research Institute prior to receiving Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) acceptance for use on the National Highway Systems. State by state approval of this new roadside barrier system will be sought across America as the safety and transportation benefits of Zoneguard are realized.
V&S Inc.'s manufacturing plant in Columbus, Ohio, will be used for introducing innovative infrastructure products to America.
The established Columbus site will become the Hill & Smith Inc. centre of excellence by providing further HS products and concentrating on adding value to its manufacturing and galvanizing operation. Outright sale and rental packages will be offered as economic safety solutions to America's travelling public.
Hill & Smith Ltd Managing Director Mark Tonks adds, "Based on our successful UK and European highway safety business model, we aim to transfer our experience to America. Our commitment to international development will see Hill & Smith Inc. grow as part of our global strategy".
