Building and construction products group Hill & Smith Holdings PLC (Hill & Smith) has today announced the appointment of Clive John Snowdon as a non-executive director.  He will be joining the board of Hill & Smith immediately following the Annual General Meeting to be held in May 2007.

Mr Snowdon, age 53, has been the Chief Executive of Umeco plc (Umeco), a publicly quoted company, since 1997.

Umeco is a leading provider of supplier outsourcing services to the aerospace industry.  He led Umeco’s repositioning in its global markets after the setback to the world’s aerospace industry which followed the attacks in the USA on 11 September 2001.

Mr Snowdon is a chartered accountant, who joined Umeco after a career which included senior roles with aerospace suppliers including Vickers plc, BTR plc, Hawker Siddeley and Burnfield plc.
